OH YEAH

HAPPY 11 MONTHS, only one more to go until he is one year old.
wow how time flies

little rock and the upside down world

This past weekend we went to visit my best friend who has been living in Alaska for the last three (maybe four) years. In July, she rejoined the contiguous United States and again became reachable by car. So 9 hours later we were in little rock. we went to the erospace education center, where X declaired we wanted to fly a plane

We also were so big at the zoo

and brought luck to the youth of the world with the rubbing a the razerbacks nose.

We also got a nice pic with the Blanchet family

Most recently we discovered that the world may look better upside down

or at least a little off center

sumersults and smiles

Karen has a dream that our child will be an Olympic gymnast so in order to get this 16 year plan in the works we have started practicing our summersults. Mid crawl, we will pause then put our head on the ground and make straight legs. Ocasionally it is on the hard wood floor and ocasionally it is much harder then we intend, resulting in a scream, but no cuncusion yet.

and yes, being that he is a child of the 21st century, none of this can be done without a cell phone on our ear.

now for the smiles.

firsts you dont like

X has his first cold. I mean full blown cold. He has been sniffly in the past, or a little sneeze here or there, but today we have full on sneezes, some coughing, a really runny nose, and a kind of loungy funk, that exudes... do you really want me to get up and move around.
that is until he remebers that if he puts his head on the ground we do a summersault.
or that if he trows that ball, Arthur may bring it back to him.

its all begining to fall apart

So yesterday I turned on the news (like i always do) and the firsst thing I heard was "it's offical, its all begining to fall apart out there." Now, out of context, like I heard it and you just hear it, your guteral respoince should be... wow that's grim, can they say that?, that is something I never watned to hear! untill you realize they are talking about the state of a huricane that has made land fall and is breaking up becouse the lack of "power" derived from warm water. so i guess in that case it is a good thing that things are falling apart.

couple more videos

here are some more videos of the boy demonstrating his two new tricks, playing catch (sort off) and playing with his lips.

day at the museum

Yeserday Karen had the day off. It was cool. on the calendar, the day was blank. There were no plans, no meetings, no work (for her or me), no scrubmate events, no parties, no plans, a blank day. So we decided to go to the largest children's museum in the USA, which just happens to be about a ten minute drive from our house (maybe five miles). The last time I went was at the end of the school year. It was field trip time, and there were probably 500 little rug rats running around making a mess of the place. This time it was the beginning of the school year and it was practically empty.
At the museum we spent a good amount of time in the playtime learning area. It is a big room with about 10 different "discovery" areas where you can just let the kids go and learn and play. There are two specifically for infants (one is one and under, and one is two and under), a cool water feature, and sand area, a construction site, a big stage for acting with costumes and a few more that I can not remember. We had fun in the Ball ro0m in the one and under area

We also spent a good amount of time in the two and under maze. It was cool. It is all padded, about knee high walls (so the kids can't scalethem). With mirrors and bridges and stairs and a small slide. Xavier had fun and worked on his walking skills.

After the play area we went to the new animation studio presented by the cartoon network. It was the neatest thing ever. They had all sorts of computer photo labs set up to teach you about stop animation, layering, and story boarding. they had a old theater set up showing classic 70's cartoons like captain cave man, and speed buggy, jabber jaw, johnny quest, space ghost, and some classic JLA. They also had a cool "matrix-esq" both with 20 still cameras, that took a simultaneous picture that was stitched together to make an animation. here is ours. it starts in the middle of mine and finishes with Karen's.

all in all, I may have had more fun then the kid.

a boy and his dog

so Xavier and Arthur are BEST FRIENDS. I trie to get a really cute pic of X giving the dog a hug, but whenever X sees the camera he gets really excited and charges it. Here is the shot

I stand, I walk, but i don't do windows...

Xavier took his first step two days ago. and he is gained the abuility (skill) to stand up in the middle of the room, unprovoked, and with no help at all. He is going to be running around the house very soon, so I figured I would put this new skill set to good use.

but then again we need to make a mess before we clean
