interesting week
SO we have had a very interesting week, and i am ready for the drama to be over.
last weekend was great, Tim came to visit, down from Chicago, on Friday, and on Sunday we went out to see great gma boots, and my mom in K3. (pics to follow)
Then on the way home disaster struck. My car broke down about 60 miles from home. We had to get towed in. AAA was wonderful in the expediency of the process but horrible in listening to the fact that i had a 17 month old with me and would need accommodations for me and a car seat. When the tow got there, he looked at me as if i was a loon wanting two seat belts and was a second from asking me why a could not hold him in my lap. anyway, a very uncomfortable hour and a half later we were home. The next day i had baby transport/car seat issues again when trying to get to the repair shop and back. Well three days and a substantial amount of money later i get my car back the day before i we are about to get my house lifted (another long a painful story)
Well, now the lifting people are here and are concerned because we have a "steady stream" of clear water coming from our foundation, and no one knows where it is coming from. The side of our house that is having issues is the garage side which does not have basement under it, has no water pipes near it, and is on the opposite side of the house then where our well or our sewer system is located. So the plan right now is to dig out the foundation, pump it for an hour, and let it set over night (during which it is scheduled to storm) before raising the house. In the hope that the water will go away or at least stop flowing in a "steady stream." On top of that Arthur is due for his annual vet visit next week, with lots of shots, and lots of money due, along with a pediatrician appointment and a trip to Florida booked...
if only it were august.
now for what you want, the pictures.

a couple pictures
So before we get into the pictures... dose my son like sports?
I pose this question becouse 1)I am not a huge fan, and 2)I know the answer and it is yes.
We have some friends with children around the age of X, when we visit them or talk to them, the tend to go on about the latest noggin show,or playhouse Disney show, or the new children music CD that their little one is in to.
Xavier will not sit still for them. Bright colors, Children singing, slap stick comedy, none of these things interest him. However, if you turn on sports, he stops dead in his tracks. As i am typing this, he has spent the last 30 minutes watching golf. He claps, and cheers and rolls around. and when they focus on the golf ball, he points at the TV and yells ball. The same thing has happened in the past with tennis, hockey, basketball, almost any sport that i happen to pause on. it is all very weird.
oh and his other big like is Wheel of fortune
now for the pictures

Marching on with life
I turned 30. early in the month that is. not just now. Karen picked a job, and we are staying in Indianapolis a few more years, and life is marching on.
Sorry that there have been no updates lately, everything is progressing on, same old same old, except that I am getting old. The Boy is doing great, i will post some more pictures in a few days. He has about 15 words and enjoys running around the house screaming at the top of his lungs.
Karen through me a surprise birthday party along with her sister and a nephew. Thanks to everyone for coming out, I really appreciate it. Then for my birthday we went to see Watchman. It was great. We have also taken some trips recently to Louisville, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis, and are planing on a trip to Cincinnati in the near future.
All in all, life is great and without drama which is nice. Hopefully as the spring comes around and summer follows, We will get out of the house more and be able to take some fun outside action pictures of the boy as he learns the joy of running jumping and skinning of knees in the warm outdoors.

Fun in sunny (yet cold) PA
V-day dinner
A little late, but here was the feast.
Scampi butter scallops, Curry split pea soup, and a refreshing cucumber salad. (it was a little green)
Pomegranate marinated Cornish game hen with an Asian pear chutney, Garlic sweat potato hash, and spiced broccolinni,
the best red wine ever (or our current favorite) Layer cake's Malbec
and for dessert we were to have chocolate lava cake, but it turned into bananas foster instead.
