Well, not entirely perfect

I do have one complaint. about the trip to florida. What the F is up with Florida’s new forced bilingualism? So if you have not been to Florida recently you may not know what I am talking about so let me explain. The news…all of it…has subtitles 24/7 in Spanish. Yes Spanish, I do not speak Spanish nor do I want to. I took German in school and enjoy German as my bilingual talent. So the most obvious reason for my disgust is the idea that the government in Florida is willing to bend to the whim of the immigrants in this country that are not willing to learn the language of this country. I will not get into the whole legal and illegal debate, because I know my POV is different then most, but if I were to immigrate (either legally or illegally) to another country, I sure as hell would learn to speak the most common language of that country. That being said I have a feeling I would immigrate to Germany since I have a head start. So with my other opinion (not what you think) under raps, I will state here and now, it is disgusting that people who live here are not willing (and sometimes adamantly protest) to learn the prominent language of our country. That being said, the other issue I have is that I was not able to read anything that was posted along the bottom third of the screen. You have seen the news before. They have bullets with important information about the story, and names of people talking and other stuff that pops up at the bottom. Well in Florida, you are not allowed to read it because you must read (or be irritated by) Spanish subtitles.
So as a aside note I am not 100% sure this takes place everywhere, but I do know that my MIL’s tv (dishnetwork) is plagued with this sudden disturbance, and the hotel room’s tv, and the hotel lobby, and the airport. You may be saying to yourself about now, “so why did you not just turn the subtitles off?” Well let me tell you that they were not ON in the first place. No other shows, but the news had this annoyance appear.
So I will end this rant with
LEARN TO SPEAK FUCKING ENGLICH.

I agree with your rant about Spanish/English. Not only do I believe that people should learn a language when they live in a new country (that applies to Americans, as well), but without knowning the language, you'll never be able to succeed. that's the first step to truly obtaining the American Dream.

Next time I'm in Indy, I'll definitely give you a ring. I was working on a project and we literally worked from 9am to 9pm for the three days I was there. Hopefully, next time I'll have a bit more free time!
